Open enrollment was held at the Washington County Library on Saturday, July 27th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with a good turnout for the inaugural season.

The final day for open sign-ups is this Saturday, August 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the lower level of the Washington County Library.

A parent or guardian must come in to sign your child up. The form is printed in the paper this week if you would like to fill it out prior to the open enrollment, but you must bring the form to the Library this Saturday to turn it in.

There is not an online registration for the Fall Baseball / Softball Season. Please let your friends and family know that this is the final open registration for the new Fall League.

There will be a coaches meeting on Monday, August 5th to pick teams and team names. Only one head coach per team. Assistant coaches will be chosen after teams are picked from the parents that are on that team.  Coaches will be required to complete a background check which will be paid for by the Potosi Baseball Association.

Players and families will not know any practice dates or times until after teams are picked. Coaches will contact players as soon as possible with this information.

Coaches may not be requested.  Teams will be drawn from a hat by each coach. The Association wants teams to be as fair as possible. If players have any special circumstances where this is an issue, please bring them to the P.B.A.’s attention and the organizers will help in any way that is possible.

Games will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays this Fall. The Association is planning to have 10 regular season games, a Tournament, and an All Star Game. Some games may be played at the Trojan Complex.

Games will start in the beginning of September to make time for jerseys to be ordered and teams to practice before games start. Games will be finished by mid-October.

The Association did notice issues with some rules during the end of the year Tournament for Summer League and are working to revise and correct the rules that are used during play.

The P.B.A. appreciates everyone’s support and interest in this program and hopes that this is a successful Fall Season!

It is not too late to be a sponsor! P.B.A. will take sponsorships up until August 4th to be included in the Fall League. To be a sponsor the cost is $250 for the first year and $200 for each year after that. As a sponsor, you will have a sign put up at the City Park and be put into the drawing for team names. The P.B.A. appreciates all the sponsors and looks forward to using sponsorship money that is raised to help improve the baseball fields for the Spring Season.

Let’s play ball!
