The Annual All American Kids Fishing Derby will be held at the Bilderback Pond at the Potosi City Park  on Saturday, June 8th, 2019. Registration for the Derby will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will last until 9:30 a.m. Fishing will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until 10:30 a.m. Prizes will be given out immediately following the Derby.

This is a free event with prizes given for highest combined weight of the youth’s three biggest fish and best in a casting contest for three age categories. The age categories are ages 5-7, ages 8-11 and ages 12-15.

No fishing licenses are required for kids or adults for the Derby. There will be sponsors there to help kids with fishing, so even if you are not a fisherman yourself bring your child for a fun learning experience. We encourage you to bring your own rod and reel, but if you cannot, one will be provided for you.

This event is being sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service, the Missouri Department of Conservation, the City of Potosi, and many other local businesses and organizations. If anyone has any further questions, please contact Scott Pierce with the U.S. Forest Service in Potosi at 573-438-5427.
