2018 Parade & Event Theme…

“Great Pumpkin In Caledonia”

It is time for the 17th Annual Caledonia Pumpkin Festival starting on Friday, October 12, 2018 with the traditional Barn Dance & Live Music, followed by a full day Saturday, October 13th, 2018 of parade, crafts and games.

FRIDAY EVENING – OCTOBER 12th from 6 to 9 P.M.

• Live Music featuring the band Certified Country; inviting everyone to come out to dance and join the fun.

• Crowning of Miss Bellevue Valley 2018. The Miss Caledonia/Miss Bellevue Valley Queen contest was started in 1964 and the Little Miss & Master contest was formed in 1968.

• DANCE (Adults: Couples $ 8.00 / Adults $5.00 per person / Children under 10 years of age FREE)

• The 11th Annual Pumpkin Cook-off Contest (bring your favorite pumpkin dessert/dish and enter the contest; prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd {NOTE: Dessert/dish must consist of a majority of pumpkin in the ingredients and the recipe must have a name and telephone number on each entry} This event is sponsored by the Caledonia Community Betterment.

• 50/50 drawing (must be present to win)

• Refreshments & desserts provided by the Caledonia United Methodist Women’s Guild.

• Display & Results of the Annual Art Drawing contest by the local grade schools.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13th

Parade – 10 A.M. (2018 Theme)

“GREAT PUMPKIN . . .  

IN CALEDONIA”

(Parade Coordinator – Johnny Robinson 573-210-3777) This year’s Grand Marshalls are Cathy & Larry Heisel, long time Village supporters and community volunteers. Line –up at 9 A.M. is at Larry Heisel’s Rentals; South State Highway 21. There will be judging for floats/wagons, bikes and horses starting approx. 9:30 A.M. [NOTE: Candy may be distributed throughout the parade route. It cannot be thrown from the wagons or floats, but the Festival Committee requests there are volunteers or walkers from the parade groups that hand out the candy along the route for safety.]

EVENTS / GAMES BEING PLANNED ON SATURDAY

• The Caledonia Eastern Star Chapter will be hosting their annual Children’s Pumpkin decorating activities in the Masonic Lodge Hall from 10 A.M. – 4 P.M.

• A free shuttle service is planned to assist visitors during the day Saturday from designated parking areas.

• An information station and large package pick-up booth will be available.

• Caledonia Fire Department will be hosting their annual BBQ plate lunch in the Village Barn starting around 11 A.M. This is a great meal and one of their annual fundraisers for their organization.

• GAMES FOR THE KIDS

Along with the Pumpkin decorating at the Masonic Lodge, other games will include:

• Money in the Hay Stack

• Pumpkin eating contest

• Petting zoo & Pony rides

{Most of the games and activities for the youth are free of charge and sponsored by many of our local merchants and patrons of the festival}

Road sign markers will be posted on the North and South ends of the Village showing where parking may be.

*Check out Rowe Crop Farms and the very popular Corn Maze (located at 19766 Webster Road)

*All the local restaurants will be open and ready to serve you.

*Check out the Old Fashioned Ice Cream at the Old Village Mercantile

After the parade down Main Street….visit the crafters and vendors throughout the Village.

Music throughout the Festival is sponsored by Unico Bank.

SEEKING ALL CRAFTERS, VENDORS and VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are sought to help throughout the festival with a variety of task including kids games and crowd control. Please contact Debbie (Dickey) Bay if you are interested in helping at the festival 573-915-0927.

Crafters & Vendors (open booths 11 A.M. or immediately after the parade)

Registration is still being taken for all booths. ($50.00 for electric hook-up and $40.00 for standard booth) Checks should be made payable to Village of Caledonia Pumpkin Festival.
