It’s “Fair Time” again and that means friends, family and fun at the 71st edition of the Washington County Fair.

This year there’s a lot of the same great things folks love - rides, food, music and exhibits, and, there’s more, too!

Missouri Farm Bureau Agri-Land is a great area for the young and the young at heart. There’s displays from logging to farming and everything in between.

The area is sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri University Extension, Washington County 4H and FFA, Prairie Farms, Missouri Beef Council, Missouri Pork Producers, Washington County Soil and Water and the Potosi Lions Club.

In “Ag Land” visitors will get to milk a cow, learn about timber production, enjoy playing in the corn bin, see displays on livestock and poultry, get to color their favorite animals and participate in a lot of fun events scheduled during the four days of the Fair.

Jim Reed, Washington County Farm Bureau President, has spent a lot of time and energy to put this area together and is looking forward to seeing the kids enjoy it.

Also, new at the Fairgrounds this year is the Belgrade State Bank ATM. It is located next to the main entrance to the fairgounds and is next to the Lions Food Stand. Lots of people have gotten used to carrying their card, but some vendors at the Fair aren’t set up to take a debit or credit, just cash. This will be an added convenience for many during the Wednesday through Saturday event.

New this year is the Roy’s, Twin Eagle & Hub’s Beer Garden that is located near the music area and the bleachers. The group will offer several brand selections during the evening hours of the Fair. The area is fenced and is for Over 21 only. Please make sure to have an ID if you want to enter the beer garden area. There will be an “Over 21” wristband that customers will receive for convenience to enter and exit the space.

Talking about food, the Potosi Lions are offering a new stand that will feature a real plate dinner - choice of pork steak or fourth of a chicken (leg & thigh) with baked beans and cole slaw and a soda or water. The plate will be $10 and have an area for seating to enjoy. Also, at the stand will be roasted ear corn fresh of the grill for just $2. Of course the traditional “Fair Food” will be available including the always favorite “Fair Fish”.
