Your Washington County Clerk’s Office is busy preparing for the upcoming 2020 General Election.  In looking back at previous general elections, it became apparent that the Courthouse precinct has outgrown its present location at the Washington County Library.  Therefore, voters in the Potosi Courthouse Precinct who voted at the Washington County Library in the new addition from parking lot will now vote at the Potosi Elks Lodge located at 10202 West State Highway E, Potosi.

This change will not affect voters in the Potosi City Hall precinct who vote at the Library in the original building from parking lot.  This new location will provide the much-needed space for voter tables and booths as well as ample parking on election day.

All voters located in the Potosi Courthouse and City Hall Precincts will notice one other change.  Since voters in Potosi and surrounding areas have not actually voted at the Courthouse and City Hall for many years, those Precincts will now be known as Potosi North and Potosi South Precincts.

The County Clerk’s Office is also in the preliminary stages of the canvass of registered voters, which means that new voter cards will be mailed to all registered voters at their last address listed in the statewide voter database.  Voters are urged to watch their mail for the new voter cards which should arrive sometime during the last few months of this year.

Voters who have moved during the past two years and have not changed their voter registration address should contact the County Clerk’s Office immediately to do so.

As always, if there are any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please contact County Clerk Jeanette Allen at the Washington County Courthouse, 573-436-7704.
