Both Kingston K-14 School District and Potosi R-3 School District have released guides to assist parents, students and staff with information on the upcoming school year.

The guides include questions, answers and examples of scenarios that may have to be addressed as school begins.

Both K-14 & R-3 Districts put everyone’s health and safety as the number one priority as the school year approaches.

The R-3 District guide is a sixteen page presentation that addresses face to face education as well as virtual learning. A virtual learning deadline for student enrollment has been set as August 14th, 2020 for Potosi.

The R-3 guide includes and discusses screenings and protocols, exposure guidance, visitors & public, social distancing, PPE, classrooms, food service, facility operations, academics, classroom & hallway protocols, recess, athletic & extracurricular event protocols and more.

The Kingston K-14 guide is 33 pages and includes items like CDC updates and info on symptoms, school calendar, virtual instruction, in-person learning, screenings, protocols, returning to school, transportation, cafeteria, classroom, library, student technology, restrooms & hallways, recess, gym & common areas, athletics & extracurricular events (based on MSHSSA guidelines), facilities, staff, closure mandates by health officials, mental & emotional support and more.

Area schools have slated Monday, August 24th as the first day of school at this time. As with everything, plans are in place and time will indicate the necessary requirements to go forward.
