James Lee Lucas

James Lee Lucas, son of Giles and Seleta Lucas was born October 24, 1868 in Caledonia, Missouri and departed this life at the Ironton Hospital, February 20, 1960.

Mr. Lucas lived his entire life in and around Caledonia.

On May 5, 1909, he united with the Caledonia Methodist Church and was a  member for over fifty years.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Elizabeth Sutton and to this union five children were born. Four children preceded him in death.

Surviving is one daughter, Beulah Dell Farrar and one grandchild, Margaret Sue Weeks, one half brother and one half sister, nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and relatives.

For many years he was a member of Tyro Lodge No. 12 AF and AM Masonic Lodge at Caledonia. Mr. Lucas was known as a very devoted husband, father and neighbor and will be sadly missed by those who knew him.

The body lay in state at White's Funeral Home at Ironton until Tuesday. The funeral was at the Caledonia Methodist Church at 2 o'clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. James Sweet. The Pallbearers were: Ira Queen, Robert Bays, Cecil Campbell, Stanley Turner, Clyde Sutton and John Akers. Burial was in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
