With the current uncertainty of the area health situation, the P.H.S. Alumni Association has decided to cancel the reunion this year. The decision was not an easy one, and had been a second try at getting together.

The hope is for everyone to stay healthy and a new opportunity to get together will be presented in 2021.

As ‘chairman’ or ‘president’ of the small, and merry band of alumni that make the annual reunion happen, I’d like to thank everyone who has spent time and made the effort to try and put the 2020 edition of the reunion together.

We had already spent quite some time on making plans, arranging food and mailing, emailing and talking with people planning to attend. The efforts of all are appreciated and we look forward to the time when we can get together again.

The All School Reunion for Potosi High School Alumni was set first for Saturday and Sunday, July 18th & 19th, 2020 and then rescheduled.

The decision had been made to go with Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 for the annual dinner. The weekend is set to be Homecoming weekend for the Trojans.

With the current health concerns and continued precautions due to the COVID-19 virus, the organizing group has decided to cancel the gathering for 2020 at this time.

After a meeting of organizers on Thursday, Sept. 3rd, the announcement was released that the annual reunion would not be held in 2020.

The alumni group are contacting those who had made reservations and offering refunds or carry over credit for next year’s reunion.

The annual reunion has continued for 26 years after celebrating many class reunions each year along with the all school gathering.

The ‘all school’ approach allows classes to join the reunion and celebrate their class without a lot of the extra work of finding a venue, arranging food and the various other necessities.

The Alumni have set up an email address to be used for the reunion =  potosiallschoolreunion@gmail.com

This year the classes of ‘60, ‘70, ‘75 and ‘80 had all been planning to get together on the weekend. The classes have decided that for health safety reasons a large gathering is not in the best interest of those that would attend.

The R-3 School District has been a wonderful host for the Alumni Reunions each year. The District recognized long ago the value of embracing the alumni and celebrating the history of the school.

To date Potosi High School has graduated 11,268 students.

For those who had made reservations, a note, text or email to P.H.S. Alumni Assoc., c/o Brenda West, 108 Church Lane, Potosi, Mo., 63664 for a refund may be sent.

If alumni prefer please contact us by email at potosiallschoolreunion@gmail.com and the reunion can also be found on Facebook.
