Donna Sue Silvey, nee Harrell, of Steelville was born on Thursday, September 13, 1956 in Little Rock, AR to Jack and Lorene D. Harrell (nee Downing).  She passed away at her home on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 13 days.

Donna graduated from Beebe High School in Arkansas and then attended Central Baptist College in Conway, AR where she earned her Associates degree. She married the love of her life, Roger Lynn Silvey on May 15, 1976 in Beebe, AR and to this union three children were born. Donna and Roger lived in Jefferson City; Little Rock, AR and lastly made Steelville their home thirty years ago.

She worked as the Steelville Middle School secretary for twenty-five years until she retired and looked forward to traveling with her husband.  While working for the school, she adopted a stray dog found roaming the halls, named him Max. He became the family's loyal companion.

Donna, first and foremost was a strong woman of her faith in Jesus Christ and devoted herself to church. She accepted the Lord at an early age and recently attended First Baptist Church of Steelville. Donna enjoyed taking care of her flower beds, especially her peonies. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She liked to garden and can her vegetables. She loved mowing grass, fishing, camping and playing the piano. Donna loved her students and traveled with them to D.C. many times. Most of all, Donna loved her family and her Lord. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father Jack Harrell; mother Lorene Turpin; step-father Dale Turpin; father-in-law Norman Roy Silvey; step-father-in-law Don Pittman; brothers Larry Harrell and Randy Harrell; sister Mary Nell Crass; brother-in-law Steve Silvey.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of forty-six years, Roger Silvey of Steelville; mother-in-law Imogene Pittman of Potosi; children Christina (Robert "Bob" Cornick) of Steelville, Melissa Yount of Potosi, and Chad (Amber) Silvey of Wentzville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Barb (David) Albert, Kelley (Kathy) Silvey and Mary (Robert) Avila all of Potosi, and Jennie (Gary) Miller of Farmington; grandchildren Mackenzie (Levi) Beel, Khoury Green, Hannah Green, Morgan Cornick (companion Dakota Long), Chanda Cornick, Heather Cornick, AnnaRose Cornick, Casey (Jed) Murri, Casey Yount, Brenna Yount, Lynsey Yount, Rhett Yount, Gracelyn Silvey and Jocelyn Silvey; great granddaughter Clementine Long; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 29th at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville.  Funeral service was at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 30th at Steelville Assembly of God with Rev. Mike Hearst and Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at the New Masonic Cemetery in Potosi.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Steelville School Backpack Program.
