CHRISTMAS BEGINS WITH CHRIST VESPERS 2020 • WED., DEC. 16TH, 2020

December 04, 2020

The community is coming together to present the annual Christmas “Vespers” celebration on Wednesday, December 16th at 7 P.M. at the Potosi Lions’ Washington County Fairgrounds on Hwy. 185.

The traditional Vespers were not going to be held this year due to the virus and this idea has caught several people’s interest and is quickly taking shape.

Traditionally, the program begins with the playing of a medley of Christmas songs and carols and ends with everyone singing “Silent Night.”

A community choir will be assembled as they present selected songs of Christmas celebration.

The Tableau will feature members of the community, who will perform the Nativity Scene as the songs are sung. They are inviting the community to please plan to attend this beautiful celebration of Christ’s Birth.

Admission is free and will be a drive-in program so that people can stay in their vehicles and listen to the performance on the radio.

Parking will begin at 6:15 p.m and the program is set to start at 7 p.m. The weather will come in to consideration as rain and wet ground may move the program back to Friday, Dec. 18th, 2020. Watch for details and if interested in helping look for the event on social media.

Merry Christmas!
