From The April 9, 1970 Edition Gertrude Thompson Died April 1st

Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth Thompson passed away at her home in Loomis Heights, Potosi, on Wednesday morning, April 1st.

Mrs. Thompson, the former Gertrude Elizabeth Bennett, daughter of Elijah and Laurinda Twidwell Bennett, was born on February 19, 1892 and died at the age of 78. She was preceded in the death by her husband, Henry O. Thompson.

Surviving are three sons- James Thompson, DeSoto and Russell and Franklin Thompson, Potosi - two daughters, Mabel Montgomery and Lorette Middleton, Potosi. Also surviving are two brothers, Irvin Bennett, Pilot Knob and Harry Bennett, Chiltae, Texas.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson were conducted on Friday, April 3, at the Pilot Knob Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lyle Marr officiating.
