Barbara Jean Kean

Barbara Jean Kean of Mineral Point was born on August 8, 1944, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Harriet (Miller) Gamble. Barb went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, September 20, 2021, having reached the age of 77 years, 1 month and 12 days.

On May 24, 1963, Barb was united in marriage to Roy Kean, and they shared 58 years of life and memories together.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Roy Kean; children, Doug Kean, Mark (Shirley)  Kean, Greg Kean, Michelle (Rev. Matt) Woods; grandchildren, Megan Dicus, Amanda Govero, Brook Kean, Jake Koeln, Kalua (Seth) Pinson, Kara (Donald) Kline, Daniel Kean, Amanda Kean, LaShae (Aaron) Aubuchon, Spencer (Nikki) Davis, Brady Woods, Justin (Ji) Arnold, Dillion Gayman, Isaac Koeln, and Hannah Kean; a host of great-grandchildren; sisters, Faye (Jim) Allen, and Pat (Larry Doeburt) Wilson. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, church family and dear friends.

In addition to Barb’s parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Brandy Koeln on April 8, 2006, and Kim Gayman on June 21, 2017; siblings, infant brothers—Teddy & Carl, Grover Gamble, Homer Gamble, Paul Gamble, Rick Gamble, David Gamble, Rev. Kenneth Gamble, Lottie Gamble, Blanche Asher, Iva Skaggs, Beulah Huff, Maxine Jarvis, Pauline Heifner and Cookie Gillam; and many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 23rd, from 5 to 8 P.M. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Friday morning from 9 to 11 A.M.

A funeral service was held on Friday, September 24th, at 11 A.M. at the DeClue Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Matt Woods, assisted by Pastor Wayne Kean.  Interment followed at New Diggins Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
