Phyllis Vance

Phyllis Ann (Kathcart) Vance was born June 22, 1935 in Anthonies Mill, a daughter to the late Logan George and Gladys Marie (Kimberlin) Kathcart. Phyllis departed this life Friday, September 24, 2021 having reached the age of 86 years, 3 months and 2 days.

On October 27, 1951, Phyllis was united in marriage to the late Carl Vance and they shared 59 years together. Carl preceded Phyllis in death on April 17, 2011.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Pamela Harris and husband John of St. Charles, son, Greg Vance and wife Toby of St. Charles, sisters, Sharon Forrester of Potosi, Glenda Farrow and husband Perry of Potosi, sister- in-law Jean Roberson and husband Ross of Mineral Point; brother-in-law, Leroy Rolens; grandchildren, Stephanie, Katie, Michael, Zachary; great grandchildren, Ethan, Morgan, Caleb Wyatt and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla J. Vance; sisters, Debbie Belfield, Marian “Kitty” Rolens, Patsy Kathcart; brother, Robert “Bob” Kathcart and brothers-in-law Wesley “Wes” Forrester, and Richard Belfield.

Phyllis had a kind and giving heart and always prayed for her friends and family. She loved embroidering and could make anything she set her mind to. She was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church and always helped with church activities. She loved working around her home and visiting with her friends and family. She will be deeply missed and the memories she gave those she loved will last forever.
Visitation for Phyllis was held Monday, September 27th, from 4-8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 28th, at 10 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi.

Burial and final prayers took place at Calvary in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Vance, Nathan Farrow, Ethan Aylesworth, Scott Forrester, Jeff Vance and Pat Rowe.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
