Dies in Fire

Harry Richards, of Route 1, Cadet, perished when fire destroyed his home located behind Radio Station KYRO, on Friday, March 13 at approximately 10 P.M. He was alone at his residence at the time.

Mr. Richards was born on July 16, 1911 in Washington County, to Michael E. “Spot” Richards and Ida England Richards. He was 58 years of age at his death.

Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Cora Boyer Richards; three sons, Kenneth, Harry Jr., and David; five daughters, Alice (Mrs. Joe Barton), Idabelle, Margarette, Diana, and Lisa Richards; and four brothers, William F. and Walter Richards of Potosi, Lee and Raymond of St. Louis. Mr. Richards was preceded in death by 5 children.

Graveside services were conducted at the New Masonic Cemetery on Sunday, March 15 at 1 P.M. with Rev. George Tatum officiating. Don Sparks Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
