Janet Showmaker

Janet Sue Showmaker of Potosi went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, having reached the age of 79 years, 6 months and 25 days. Janet was born on May 5, 1942 at Fountain Farm located in Cadet. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Magdalene (Vance) Trokey.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Gary Showmaker; eight children, Debbie Thompson (husband, Leo), Leslie Dean Adams (wife, Rhonda), Marvin Adams (wife, Cindy), Brenda Adams, Robin Essmeyer, Shannon Strauser (husband, Rob), Tonya Sheets, Jon Moffett (wife, Amy); twenty four grandchildren, Chris, Kimberly, Amy, Andrea, Deana, Dustin, Ciara, Shaun, Janae, Adam, Ian, Darin, Taylor, Darin, Tara, Ryan, Joel, Grant, Malania, Ashlin, Braden, Allie, Anne, and Amanda. Janet also leaves behind many special great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Eaves; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her second husband, Dean Adams; son, Theadore “Teddy” Adams; and daughter, Kim Allen.

A time of visitation was held on Saturday, December 4th from 5 to 8 P.M. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Sunday at Potosi Southern Baptist Church from 1 to 2 P.M.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 5th at 2 P.M. at Potosi Southern Baptist Church. Rev. H. Wayne Isgriggs officiated the service, assisted by Pastor Rick Posey. Interment followed at New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi.
