Mildred “Midge” Johnson

On Friday, November 26, 2021, Mildred “Midge” Johnson, 95, of Potosi, moved to her heavenly home. Midge was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set forth an example for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends that will lead them all their lives.
Midge was born on September 20, 1926 at High Point, also known as Mission Ridge just outside Potosi. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Alfred and Verda (Jarvis) Brand.
On January 20, 1942, Midge was united in marriage to Cecil Charles Johnson. Midge loved her Savior the Lord Jesus with all her heart and God’s word. Though she was a humble gentle woman, Midge was a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful impact her prayers made through the generations. Midge was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Potosi. She loved her family. She cherished all the memories made with them. She was most certainly a talented seamstress, tailoring clothes for her family and friends for many years. Midge loved cooking, working in her lawn and keeping an immaculate home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her three children, Ginny McFarland (husband, Barry), Dean Johnson (wife, Pat), and Bill Johnson; six grandchildren, Matt and Susan McFarland, Holly McFarland, Mike and Heather Johnson, Monica McClain, Bryce and Bridgett Wilson, Shane and Audrey Johnson; a sister, Treva Lovvorn (husband, Larry). Midge also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and church family.
In addition to her parents, Midge was reunited in heaven with her husband, Rev. Charles Johnson; daughter-in-law, Susan Johnson; great granddaughters, Stephanie Johnson and Breanna Wilson; two siblings, Veldon "Buck" Brand and Dorothy Jennings; nephews, Gary Compton and Donnie Brand; niece, Kathy Richards; and many other dear relatives.
