James "Jimmy" Jenkins

James Dale Jenkins also known by family and friends as “Jimmy”, departed this life on Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home, having reached the age of 74 years, 10 months and 28 days. Jimmy was born on January 6, 1947 in Belgrade, a son of the late James Ralph and Olive Lucille (Tedder) Jenkins.
On July 20, 1968, Jimmy was united in marriage to Rebecca L. Wood and they shared 53 years of life, love and memories together.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his wife, Becky Jenkins; two daughters, Sandra Hammons (husband, Ron) and Mandi Gabriele (husband, Thomas); four grandchildren, Brooke Richardson, Brennan Richardson, Lucca Gabriele, Mia Bella Gabriele; three sisters, Leona Boelloeni, Brenda Powell, Virginia Rhea (Jim); mother-in-law, Mayno Wood; in-laws, Doug and Tanya Wood and Diane Jenkins. Jimmy also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends who will forever miss him.
In addition to his father and mother, Jimmy was preceded in death by eight siblings, Ronald Jenkins, Delores Sparks, Vivian Sisk, Carl "Buck" Jenkins, Shelba Jean LeClaire, Gary Jenkins, Nancy Jenkins, and Terry Jenkins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 7th from 5 to 8 P.M. at DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi. A V.F.W. service was held on Tuesday evening at 6 P.M. presented by VFW Post 6947.
Visitation resumed on Wednesday, December 8th from 9 to 11 A.M. at DeClue Funeral Home.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 8th beginning at 11 A.M. in the DeClue Chapel. Full military honors was presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6947. Jimmy also received full honors, presented by the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri for his years of faithful service to the Belgrade Fire Department.
Interment was held at the Jenkins Cemetery in Belgrade.
DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to Jimmy’s family and friends.
