Charles “Butch” Aloywishes Chazelle of Potosi was born August 5, 1945 in Berryman, a son to the late Annas Chazelle, Sr. and Eugenia (Recar) Chazelle. Charles departed this life February 6, 2022 having reached the age of 76 years, 6 months and 1 day.
Charles is survived by his brothers, Michael Chazelle and wife Terri of Potosi, Annas Chazelle, Jr. of Potosi, Ron Chazelle of St. Louis, Wayne Chazelle, of Potosi, Robert Chazelle, of Potosi; sisters, Margaret Tingler of Kansas City, Mary Jynelle Chazelle of Potosi; Pat Johnson; sister-in-law, Marvel Chazelle of Potosi and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Chazelle, sister, Rose Marie (Oscar) Pinson; sisters– in –law, Betty Chazelle, Valerie Chazelle and brothers- in- law, Gerald Tingler and Jim Johnson
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1967-1969. He had a strong work ethic and did not quit until the sun went down. For many years, he help operate Chazelle Feed Store and loved talking with customers. For 25 years, he was a driver for Politte Ready Mix before retiring in 2008. He dedicated this life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church, he often helped with church picnics and other church activities. He loved his family deeply and was always there to help in times of need. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Visitation for Charles was held Thursday, February 10th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 10th at 2 P.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi with Fr. Rodger Fleming officiating.
Burial and final prayers took place at Calvary Cemetery in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Short, Jim Chazelle, Jeff Chazelle, Houston Thomlinson and Jim Douglas.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
