Micheal Lawson

Micheal Lawson of Cadet was born September 20, 1942, in Shibboleth, a son to the late Clyde Lawson and Mary Lorrain (Portell) Courtois. Micheal departed this life Monday, February 7, 2022 having reached the age of 79 years, 4 months and 18 days.
On October 23, 1965, Micheal was united in marriage to Julia Marie (Missey) Lawson and together they served the Lord, raised a beautiful family and shared many memories.
Micheal is survived by his devoted wife, Julia of Cadet; son, Micheal Lawson II and wife Amy of Bismarck; daughters, Barbara Messex and husband John of Blackwell, Sharon Woods and husband Stacey of Belleview, Samantha Boyer and husband Devin of Potosi, Maygon Richardson and husband Jeremiah of Cadet; grandchildren, Aaron, Sandra, Katera, LaChelle, Joshua, Elijah, David, John, Clayton, Christopher, Isaac, Olivia, Genises; great grandchildren, Miles and Amelia and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Micheal was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Maria Lawson and sisters, Teresa Portell and Shelby Jean Politte.
First and foremost, Micheal was a warrior of God and if you stopped to talk to him you were sure to hear the Word of the Lord. He understood the struggles people face and kept many in his thoughts and prayers. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to travel to the mountains. He particularly loved Yellowstone Park and the State of Alaska. He loved looking at old maps, going fishing, hunting, and spending precious time with his family. His favorite place to be was around the table with his family. His solid example of faith, love, and kindness will be missed by all the lives he touched.
Visitation for Micheal was held Sunday, February 13th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Monday, February 14th from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 14th at Moore Funeral Home at 1 P.M. with Rev. Ron Duncan officiating.
Burial and final prayers took place at St. Joachim Cemetery in Old Mines. Serving as pallbearers were Devin Boyer, Jermiah Richardson, John Messex, Gregory Daugherty, Brian Dresback, Donald Garcia, Trent Southern and Micheal Lawson II.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
