Shelba Jean Benson

Shelba Jean Benson of Kirkwood, Missouri, was born on January 31, 1955, a daughter of the late Sterling and Marie Skiles. Shelba passed away on February 27, 2022, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, and twenty-seven days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Lonnie Benson; two children: Brian Benson (Trish), Lonnie Benson II; eight grandchildren: Lizzie, Amber, Mathew, Abby, Kristen, Molly, Kadince, and Jessica; special family friend, Calvin Hatala; several brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Shelba was preceded in death by her siblings: Dennis Skiles, Arthur Skiles, Carolyn (Skiles) Politte, James “Jimmy” Skiles, Barbara Null, and many other dear family members.

A Visitation for Mrs. Benson was Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 11 to 1 PM at DeClue Funeral Home.

A Funeral service followed the visitation on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 1 PM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel, officiated by Mike Jarvis. Interment followed at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi.

DeClue Funeral home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Mrs. Shelba Benson.
