Edna Juanita Schroeder was born November 28, 1953 in Hillsboro, a daughter to the late Edna Lucille (Bone) Schroeder and Vernon E. Schroeder. Juanita departed this life on Thursday, March 24, 2022 having reached the age of 68 years, 3 months and 24 days.
Juanita is survived by her sister; Beverly Schroeder of Hillsboro; brother-in-law, Steven Thompson of Hillsboro; six nieces and nephews, Becky Fox of San Antonio, Texas, Sarah Gamble and husband Pete of Cadet, Robert Effinger of San Antonio, Texas, Stephanie Mareschal and husband James of Barnhart, Sierra Thompson of South County and Steven Thompson, Jr. of South County; seven great nieces and nephews, Jacob Fox, Sam Gamble, Abi Gamble, Katie Gamble, Ava Mareschal, Logan Mareschal, Phil Fox II and wife Pam and April Fox.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was proceeded in death by her sisters, Vernna Ruth Schroeder and Sandy Thompson.
Juanita was a teacher for twenty nine years for the Hillsboro School District. Her dedication as a teacher will never be forgotten by the district, staff and students she taught throughout her teaching career. Juanita was a member of the Apostolic Fellowship Church of Cadet and was a former member of the Books of Acts in DeSoto serving as a member with Pastor Barry and Tracey Lakes. Juanita enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, spending time reading her Bible and praying for all her family and friends. Juanita enjoyed doing word search puzzles and spending time gardening. She touched many people’s lives and will be remembered by all that knew and love her.
Visitation for Juanita was held Sunday, March 27th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Monday, March 28th from 9 to 11 A.M. at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Monday March 28th at 11 A.M. at Moore Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Gamble officiating. Burial and final prayers took place at New Diggins Cemetery in Mineral Point. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Thompson, Stephen Thompson Jr., James Mareschal, Pete Gamble, Sam Gamble and Abi Gamble.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hillsboro R-3 School Foundation at 5 Ridgewood Drive Hillsboro, Missouri 63050.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
