Central Workforce Development Region Welcomes Jeremy Porter of SomethingCool.com To The Workforce Board of Directors

Jefferson City – The Central Workforce Development Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jeremy Porter, partner and co-founder of SomethingCool.com, LLC. 

SomethingCool.com is a leader in Managed IT services. Since 2000, Jeremy has led SomethingCool to become the area’s largest provider of IT Services for the public sector and small businesses in Southeast Missouri. His passion for problem solving has allowed SomethingCool to grow to over $2 Million in annual revenue, and 13 employees. 

Before starting SomethingCool.com, Jeremy was President of Big River Community Network, a Community Information Network that provided Internet service and after-school computer labs to the Irondale, Missouri area. 

Jeremy was also Program Director and on-air talent for KYRO-AM Radio, a small family-owned radio station in Potosi, Missouri. His interest in computers allowed for one of the first fully-automated stations in the area.

Jeremy currently lives in downtown St. Louis with his family, working regularly from the SomethingCool.com offices in St. Louis, Potosi and Farmington.

The Central Workforce Development Board is composed of community leaders from local businesses, educational institutions, labor groups, community-based organizations, and governmental entities.  The CWDB directs the implementation of publicly funded workforce development activities throughout the Central Workforce Development Region. 

The Central Workforce Development Region encompasses 19 mid-Missouri counties including Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Howard, Laclede, Maries, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski, and Washington.  It also offers four full-service Missouri Job Center locations in Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla, and Lebanon, along with satellite operations available in Fulton, Fort Leonard Wood, Osage Beach, and Potosi.
