Carl R. Kamper of Old Mines was born March 15, 1938.  A son to the late Delmar L. Kamper and Aletha M (Downey) Kamper.  Carl departed this life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 having reached the age of 84 years, 1 month and 4 days.  

On April 27, 1957, Carl was united in marriage to Rita E. (Thebeau) Kamper and together they happily raised their six children.  

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Rita Kamper; sons, Jeff Kamper and wife Cyndi of Cadet, Rick Kamper and wife Marie of Blackwell, Keith Kamper and wife Amanda of Potosi; daughters, Marcia Huelsmann and husband Michael of Lemay, Carla Miller and husband Ron of DeSoto, Phyllis Pashia and husband Jeff of Potosi; brothers, Jim Kamper and wife Debbie of St. Clair, Paul Kamper and wife Linda of St. Clair and Bob Kamper of Union; special niece, Jayne Lawson of Potosi.   Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.  

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Baby Boy Kamper; sisters, Lois (Kamper) Kane and Betty (Kamper) Cox.  

Carl enjoyed spending time with and making cherished memories with his family and friends.  He loved cars and doing mechanical work.  He traveled to islands and traveled through many states.  He had interest in auctions, fishing, and camping and just simply enjoying nature. He loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed by his family and special friends. 

Visitation for Carl was held Friday, April 22nd from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Saturday, April 23rd from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23rd at 10 A.M. at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines with Father Tony Dattilo officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Rick Milentz, Jason Pashia, Travis Missey, Drew Kamper, Jacob Pashia, Alex Huelsmann and honorary pallbearer Kaiden Kamper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
