Edward Nelson Patterson Sr.,

Edward Nelson Patterson Sr., of Elsberry, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at the age of 91. He was born in Potosi and resided in Silex. Edward was the beloved husband of Mary Patterson; cherished son of the late Roy and Celia Ann Patterson; devoted father of Ed (Janet) Patterson Jr., Donnie (Jackie) Kinsler, Danny (Lisa) Kinsler and Dean (Katrina) Kinsler, the late Dianne Patterson; loving grandfather of 22; treasured great-grandfather of many; dear brother of the late Sydney Richards, Alma Hanson, Annamae Washburn and Ira Patterson; Ed was a wonderful uncle, cousin and friend to many.  

Ed proudly and honorably served in the United States Army and he was a lifetime member of the 11th Airborne. He was a Free Mason and a member of the St. Peters V.F.W. Ed was a man of great faith and attended First Baptist Church of St. Charles and was involved in Sunday School. He was also a member of Star Hope Baptist Church in Elsberry. He also was a member with Mary of the McDonnell Douglas Retirees Group and Candy Stripers Organization. In his free time, Ed enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and many trips to Branson where he enjoyed the shows at the Sight and Sound Theatre. He also loved riding his motorcycle and using his ham radio. Ed was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

 Memorials may be made in Ed's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Veterans Administration. 

Visitation was held at Baue Funeral Home in Cave Springs on Monday, June 6th from 4:30 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at Baue Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7th at 10 a.m. with interment following at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
