Shirley Jean Drake

Shirley Jean Drake of Spring Hill, Tennessee, was born on June 20, 1937 in Arkansas, a daughter of the late Francis Andrew Barnes and Gertie Lee (Lindley) Barnes. Shirley passed away on September 26, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-five years, three months, and six days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her two children, Barry (Kathy) Curneal, Gina (Mark) Barron; six grandchildren, Cody Mark Rebel Barron, Blake Harper, John (Mary) Jolly Jr., Melanie Pashia, Adam Davis, and Eric Cobillas; great granddaughter, Maddie Rollings; special niece, Karen Bourbon; and many other dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Drake, on April 19, 2019; daughter, Joyce Ann Ard; siblings, Gertrude Cunningham, Addie Johnson, J.B. Barnes, Zencie Rulo, J.W. Barnes, and two infant sisters.

Shirley loved spending time with her family and having everyone together. She found so much joy in taking trips to Branson. In addition, Shirley enjoyed thrift shopping, and listening to music, especially hearing her grandson and son-in-law play the guitar.

Visitation was held Monday, October 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation continued on Tuesday, October 4th from 9 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service was Tuesday, October 4th at 11 a.m., officiated by Elder Leonard Compton. Interment followed at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in Caledonia.
