Darrell Lee Edward Politte, of High Ridge, was born July 14, 1946 in Old Mines to Andrew and Genevieve (nee Whitter) Politte and entered into rest Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in High Ridge at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 12 days.

He is preceded in death by his parents; six (6) siblings, Victor Politte, Wayne Politte, Kenneth Politte, Ronnie Politte, Larry Politte, and Curtis Politte.

He is survived by his spouse Patricia (nee Gough) Politte, three children, Brian Politte, Kimberly Goulet, and Cortney (Jose) Quiroz, two grandchildren, Sadie Quiroz and Cecilia Quiroz; five siblings, Deanna Luther, Terry Lomax, Judy Politte, Bobbie Osia, and Carl Politte, along with numerous extended family and friends.

Darrell had a caring heart and loved his family and friends, even though he didn’t often say it. He also had a wicked sense of humor and was quite known to be a tease and jokester.
Darrell and Patricia were married for over 55 years. He very much cherished their time together. He waited a long time to become a grandparent. Sadie and Cecilia were the light of his life and brought him so much joy.
Darrell enjoyed an active life. He loved being outside and especially working in his yard. He was the neighborhood watch. He would enjoy sitting on his driveway watching cars drive through the neighborhood. He enjoyed sports. He was a huge St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan. He was known for many spirited games of basketball at home, often with the neighbors joining in. He also enjoyed the casino and loved to recount his trip to Las Vegas.

Darrell ran track for Potosi High School where his track records still stand. He was very proud of his military service. He served in the Air Force from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed a long career in the printing industry as a Shipping Manager for National Graphics and other printing companies in St. Louis.

As we grieve Darrell’s passing, we have many fond memories that we will hold in our hearts forever. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held Sunday, October 30th from 2 until 6 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill. Services were held Monday, October 31st at 10 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary with interment following the service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
