RICHARD WADER

Richard "Rick" David Wader II, age 45, of Potosi passed away Wednesday October 26th, 2022 at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born February 12, 1977 in St Louis, the son of Rick Wader and Linda "Lynn" (nee Gebhardt) of Potosi. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Katelynn "Katie Bug" Wader of Potosi, his sister Mindy (Andy) Hasemeier; his nieces Savannah, Haley, and Lydia Hasemeier of Bonne Terre, his significant other Jennifer Price; her children, Connor, Annelise, and Amelia Baur of Imperial; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his brothers and sisters throughout the First Responder family.

Rick was a Paramedic in the Emergency Department of South City Hospital and a volunteer with Madison Fire Department. For the past 20 years, he has served as an E.M.T., Paramedic, and Firefighter. Rick dedicated himself to selfless service in the community and with multiple organizations including Backstoppers, Hartbauer-McBride, and Bikers For Babies, just to name a few.

Visitation was held Wednesday, November 2nd at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Visitation began at 1 P.M. with a funeral service following at 6:30 P.M. officiated by Odell Jackson of Potosi. Memorials in his memory are preferred to the Katelynn Michelle Wader educational fund in C/O Mindy Hasemeier.
