Brian Leonard Murray

Brian Leonard Murray of Dittmer was born on November 25, 1959 in St. Louis, a son to the late Leonard Everett Murray and the late Sabina (Meyer) Murray. Brian passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
Brian loved the outdoors and spending time with his brother Joe maintaining the family’s country place in Potosi. He was a devoted son, father, and grandfather. Brian was a hard worker and liked to hold court with his workmates. (He was an excellent project manager.) Brian did not have an easy life, but lived it to the fullest and with no regrets. A lesser man would have despaired of his difficulties and ailments, but Brian never gave up. His big heart and his generosity will be his legacy.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his mother, Kathryn Murray; sons, Matthew Wade (Jessica), James Brumgard III; grandchildren, Heidi Brumgard, Levi Wade, Delaney Wade; siblings, Jean Goodwin (Sam Cox), Barbara Bohler (James), Joe Grothe, Steve Grothe, Donna Murray (Timothy Petzoldt); and 4-legged friend, Amber. Brian was also a dear uncle to Christopher Goodwin, Jason Bohler, Amanda Bohler, Justin Grothe; and survived by great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Murray and mother, Sabina Murray.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday November 26th at 11 A.M. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 4220 Ripa Ave., St. Louis, MO 63125 with a luncheon to follow in the school cafeteria at St. Mark.

Jessie "Lorene" Marler was born September 28 1925 in Shirley, a daughter of the late Edgar and Alice Lahmann. Lorene went to her heavenly home on Friday, October 21, 2022, having reached the age of ninety-seven.
On January 8, 1950, Lorene was united in marriage to Hubert Marler, and four daughters and a son was born to this union. Lorene attended Grassy Hollow Baptist Church of Shirley. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Some of her favorite things to do was to quilt, crochet, crossword and word search puzzles watching the Cardinal baseball games or the Waltons, but most of all spending time with her family. Her biggest accomplishments was teaching everyone about Jesus and loving her kids, grandkids, and anyone she met. Lorene was described as a sweet lady who loved the Lord. Her memory will forever live on in all the hearts of those she touched.
Those who remain to mourn her include her three daughters, Anna Dunham (husband, Jeff), Alice Adams (husband, Brad) Patti Pyatt (husband, John); daughter-in-law, Dixie Marler; eleven grandchildren, Chad Breakfield, Tim Breakfield, Jason Marler, Jessica Skinner Marler, Jamie Adams, Elizabeth Adams Desmond, Tiffany Evans, Trevor Evans, Tory Evans, Dylan Pyatt, and Desirae Pyatt; twelve great grandchildren, Emma Adams, Collin, Draven, and Piper Marler, Emerson, Owen, and Winston Breakfield, Aiden Desmond, Logan and Libby Counter, Porcius and Cassius Schanda. Lorene also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws.
In addition to her father and mother, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Hubert; daughter, Beverly; son, David Marler; two grandsons, Wally Adams, Daniel Evans; great grandson, Troy Skinner; siblings, George, Virgil, Earl, Russell, Leo and Judy Lahmann.
Visitation was Friday, October 28th from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi.
Visitation continued on Saturday, October 29th from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grassy Hollow Baptist Church in Potosi. A funeral service immediately followed at 11 a.m. officiated by Bro. Gary Golden, assisted by Bryce Wilson.
Interment was held at the Grassy Hollow Baptist Church Cemetery in Potosi.
DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Ms. Lorene Marler.
