VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

NOV. 11TH AT COURTHOUSE

On November 11, 1918 an Armistice was signed ending hostilities, in effect the end of World War I. This was made a holiday in the United States to honor those who gave their lives in this struggle, and also those who put their lives on the line.

This day was first called Armistice Day then changed to Veterans Day to honor those who lost their lives, and also to those who put their lives on the line in all of our country’s struggles.

Cordia-Humphrey American Legion Post 265, Potosi in conjunction with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6996, Potosi, will have a Flag Ceremony honoring all Veterans of all wars at the Washington County Courthouse on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11 A.M. The actual time of the Armistice signing ending World War 1, was the eleventh month, eleventh day, eleventh hour.

“We are especially inviting all veterans to attend, and also would like to invite the public to be in attendance,” stated Jeff Higginbotham, V.F.W. Commander.

All Veterans will be welcome to participate whether you are a member of the Legion, V.F.W. or not.
