The Salvation Army Needs Your Help Ring The Bell This Year

December 09, 2022

The Washington County Salvation Army seeks Volunteer Bell Ringers to help staff the ‘Kettle’ this year.

The Salvation Army relies on the money raised from the Red Kettle Campaign to provide outreach programs and assistance to those in need, throughout the coming year.

With the price of food, energy, fuel, and other necessities rising The Salvation Army has seen an increase in the number of community members needing help and it is predicted a greater number will be needing assistance in 2023.

With that being said, the need for Volunteer Bell Ringers is more important than ever. It is important to know the money raised in our community stays in our community. So, as you give of your time and/or money you may be helping your neighbors, friends or family.

“Let’s make a difference with every bell we ring!”

The Bell Ringing Campaign started after Thanksgiving and runs through noon on Christmas Eve. The Salvation Army does not ring the bell on Sundays.

Because there are several organizations providing Christmas assistance, the funds raised during the Bell Ringing Campaign are used for assistance locally throughout the rest of the year.

The breakdown of donations is:

Operating Expenses – 5%

Disasters Fund – 10%

Washington County Community Assistance – 85%

There are no income guidelines to receive assistance. However, there is a maximum amount that can be received at one time.

Donations can be mailed to:
