Evert Dwight Eckhoff of Potosi was born February 14, 1952 in Old Mines, a son the late Joseph Eckhoff and Mildred (Pratt) Eckhoff. Evert departed this life Thursday, December 8, 2022 having reached the age of 70 years, 9 months and 24 days.
On October 4, 1969 Evert was united in marriage to the late Deborah Sue Eckhoff and they were blessed with 49 years together. Deborah preceded Evert in death on August 15, 2009.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Julia Eckhoff of Doniphan, Debra James of Mineral Point; sons, Jared Eckhoff and fiancé Jessie James of Park Hills, Jason Eckhoff and wife Evon of Mineral Point, Brian Eckhoff of Potosi, Nicholas Eckhoff and fiancé Nicole of Potosi, Joshua Hutson and fiancé Susann Hutson of Valle Mines; sisters, Sheila Harris and husband Ken of Bonne Terre, Shannon Eckhoff of Farmington, Sharon Eckhoff of Mineral Point; brothers, Dennis Eckhoff of Leadwood, Kevin Eckhoff of Belgrade, Kelly Eckhoff and wife Mary of Mineral Point, Scott Eckhoff and wife April of Mineral Point; 32 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Evert was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Eckhoff, Michael Eckhoff, Matthew Eckhoff and mother-in-law, Maudie Cain
Evert was a “Jack-of-All Trades” and could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He was a skilled mechanic and worked on a variety of vehicles. He was a great story teller and often shared stories of his childhood to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed coon hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. The memories he left behind will be treasured by those who loved him.
Visitation for Evert was held Saturday, December 10th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home.

Burial and final prayers took place at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were Jared Eckhoff, Jason Eckhoff, Nick Eckhoff, Kevin Eckhoff, Scott Eckhoff, Josh Hutson, Jacob Eckhoff and Zach Golden.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
