TAX BILLS HAVE BEEN MAILED

Washington County Collector Carla Zettler has announced that approximately 29,000 Real Estate and Personal Property tax bills have been mailed to property owners and residents of Washington County. If you have not received your tax bill please contact the Collector’s Office as promptly as possible. The failure of the taxpayer to receive the notice provided for in section 52.230, RSMo in no case relieves the taxpayer of any tax liability imposed by law. Tax payments must be received or postmarked by December 31st, 2022. Payments received or postmarked after that date will have penalty and interest fees added to them. If you have any questions please contact the Collector’s office at (573) 438-6111 ext 6.

Tax payments can be made in person, by mail, or website (www.washingtoncountymo.us and then select Collector’s Office and then payment option).

If you have questions regarding your tax levies you need to contact the various political subdivisions listed on your statement.

If you have questions regarding your valuation you will need to contact the Washington County Assessor’s Office.

The Collector’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with the exception of the Holiday Schedule as follows-

Closed Friday, December 16th, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;

Closed Thursday December 22nd, 2022 through Monday, December 26th, 2022;

Normal business hours resume Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Furthermore, you can mail your payments anytime so long as it is postmarked with the December 31st date.

Remember the County Collector also collects City of Potosi, Irondale and Village of Caledonia Taxes and Vehicle Fees.

Also, the Collector’s Office still may not have all correct 911 addresses on everyone, so you will need to contact the Collector if you don’t receive your statement.
