Joyce A. Harris

Joyce A. Harris, 80, of DeSoto passed away at her home on Sunday, January 1st, 2023. She was born on March 30, 1942 at Brown Hollow in Washington County.
Her parents preceded her in death, Walter and Justine (nee Villmer) Sampson.

Joyce married Carl C. Harris on February 15, 1964 in DeSoto. Carl survives, living in DeSoto. Joyce and Carl have a surviving daughter, Dawn (Steve) Willcutt, Richwoods and a son, Todd (Lillie) Harris, Shreveport, LA.; four grandchildren, Brittany (Cory) Deaton, MeKayla (William) Rhodes, Kaitlin Willcutt and Dylan (Kelbi) Mueller; five great grandchildren, Olivia, Ryker, Peyton, Nora and Lila.

Joyce is survived by a brother Jerry (Louise) Sampson, Lake Timberline.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Keith Harris and Troy “Nortie” Harris; six sisters, Joan Vaughn, Rita (Fabian) Pratt, Nazarene (Earl) Sheppard, Maxine (Joseph, Jr. “Smokey”) Matthews, Patricia (Harold) Beckner, Janice (John, Sr.) Whitter and five brothers, Paul (Helen) Sampson, Chris ( Della Mae) Sampson, Virgil (Dorothy) Sampson, Jude (Ce) Sampson and Thomas Sampson.

Visitation was held Thursday, January 5th from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 6th at 10 a.m. from the Dietrich-Mothershead Chapel, officiated by Pastor Matt Sutman. Interment will follow at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery, DeSoto.
