Hazel C. Peebles

Hazel C. Peebles of Crystal City was born on March 27th, 1940 in Potosi, a daughter to the late James Ivory Bowen and Lottie Mae
(Lawson) Bowen. Hazel departed this life on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 having reached the age of 82 years, 9 months and 23 days.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Lisa Peebles of Crystal City; step-daughter, Janice and husband Ken Godier of Festus; sisters, Edna
LaChance of Bismarck, Loretta DeClue of Potosi; brother, Ivory “Buddy” Bowen of Potosi; grandsons, Matt and Doug; also surviving are
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear and special friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wayne, Hazel was preceded in
death by her sisters, Myrtle Kean, Ruby Anderson, Lilly Baker, Deloris Dodson, Ruth Wilkinson and brothers, Ernie and Willie Bowen.
Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed word search puzzles, reading and camping. Hazel
cherished spending quality time with her dearest family and friends. Her love, kindness and example of faith will be cherished by all
who loved her. Her memory will continue to bring a loving warmth to those she loved dearly.
Visitation for Hazel was held Tuesday, January 24th from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 24th at 1 P.M. with family and
friends sharing special memories. Burial and final prayers took place at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Serving as
pallbearers were Billy Bourbon, Tim Lowe, Kevin Mercer, Peyton LaChance, Matt Godier and Doug Godier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart
Association at 460 N Lindbergh Blvd.; St. Louis, MO 63141.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
