Leonard Dallis Miner of Mineral Point was born on July 1, 1947 in Shirley, a son to the late Virgil H. and Lydia M. (Mason) Miner. Leonard went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 having reached the age of 75.

On May 24, 1969, Leonard was united in marriage to Margaret Whitehead and they shared nearly 54 years of life and love together. Leonard served in the United States Army from March 19th, 1968 to March 18th, 1970.

Those who remain to treasure his memory include his loving wife, Margie Miner; four children, Jeanette Sexton (husband, Lestel II), Angela Albrecht (husband, Richard), Robert Miner (wife, Leslie), and Karen Tyler (husband, Ronald); thirteen grandchildren, Jessyca Rice (husband, Michael), Joshua Sexton, Molly Albrecht, Dylan Miner (wife, Taylor), Anna Forrester & fiance Payton Savat, Alyssa Wigger, Lydia Miner, Alec Wigger, Landon Miner, Matthew Pashia, Ron Tyler Jr., Alaya Tyler, and Arielle Tyler; seven great grandchildren, Jayda, Dallis, Drake, Ella, Greyson, Alexandria and Landon; five siblings, Wilma Arkulari, Clarence Miner (wife, Linda), Julie Merseal (husband, Ken), Cora Boyer (husband, Bernard), and Brenda Eaves (husband, Gary). Leonard also leaves behind brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to Leonard’s parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Verna Mae Welker and Carl Miner; and many other dear relatives.

Visitation was Friday, February 24th from 5 to 8 P.M. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Saturday, February 25th from 11 A.M. until the time of his funeral service at 2 P.M. Pastor Jim Ainley officiated the service. Musical selections were Amazing Grace, I’ll Fly Away, and I Can Only Imagine. Interment followed at Redbud Memorial Gardens. Leonard received full military honors presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Mr. Miner.
