Iona Lou "Lucie" Hedrick

Iona Lou Hedrick, also lovingly known as “Lucie”, of Raymore, was born on December 7, 1956 in St. Louis, a daughter of the late Alfred C. & Melvina (Martin) Ward of Potosi. Lucie passed away on February 17, 2023 at Cedar Point Nursing Home, Rolla, having reached the age of 66.

Lucie was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hedrick; parents, Alfred “Ace” & Melvina Ward; father and mother-in-law, Earl & Georgia Hedrick; brothers-in-law, Larry and Ricky Hedrick; sister-in-law, Virginia Hedrick; siblings, Gary Ward, Joe Ward, and Robert Ward (wife, Karen).

Lucie is survived by her three sisters, Anita (Joe) Kane of Owensville, Nancy McMahan or Owensville, and Sandra (James) Kuntz of Millington, TN; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Ward of Ropesville, Texas, and Linda Ward of St. Clair; brothers-in-law, Gary and Donna Hedrick, and Tom and LaDonna Hedrick. Also surviving are great nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Lucie belonged to the Jaycees and the DEARS of Elks Lodge 2088. She was a past president of the DEARS. She enjoyed crafts, helping people, animals, and making flower arrangements. She enjoyed exploring the outdoors.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi, on Saturday, March 11th at 1 p.m.
