Susanna Wesley Award Of Excellence Honors Ourstanding Women Presented to Clara Province

CALEDONIA – On Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023 at the Caledonia United Methodist Church,  Mrs. Clara Province was presented with the Susannea Wesley Award of Excellence from the Caledonia United Methodist Men's Club and certified by the Missouri Conference United Methodist Men and the Global Commission on Methodist Men.

Missouri Conference United Methodist Men President John Robinson, III presented Clara with the prestigious crystal award and a bouquet of flowers. The Susanna Wesley Award is the highest honor that is bestowed on a woman of a United Methodist Church in the United States. 

Susanna Wesley was the mother of John and Charles Wesley, founders of the Methodist movement in England. 

The award was applied for by the local Men's unit and ratified by the Missouri Conference Mens officers. The woman selected has a distinctive intellect, a nurturing spirt, unwavering devotion and perseverance in the faith.

Funds raised for the presentation of the award support the national Commission on Methodist Men and their projects including the Upper Room, Scouting and the Saint Andrew Society for Hunger.

Clara Province has been a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church since 1977 and served many roles and committees over these years.  She has been the church Treasurer for over 30 years and was the United Methodist Women's Guild president for over 10 years.
