Geraldine Vernetta (Adams) DeClue of Potosi was born on November 6th, 1936, in Richwoods; a daughter to the late Lawrence Adams and Lucille Merseal. Geraldine departed this life on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023, having reached the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 8 days.

On November 27th, 1954, Geraldine was united in marriage to the late Fabian “Ace” DeClue and were married for 51 years.

Geraldine is survived by her son Jeff DeClue of Potosi; grandson Preston of Potosi and brother Joe Adams and wife Sheila of Richwoods; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Geraldine was proceeded in death by her sister Patricia Adams.

Geraldine had a solid faith in Christ, her Savior. She attended Mass at St. James Catholic Church and always took time every day to say her rosary. For many years, along with her husband Ace, she owned and operated a concrete statuary business and beautifully hand painted many statues that were admired by many friends and family. She loved to dance and often visited the senior citizens center for many dances and luncheons. Her appearance was important to her and she always matched her outfits with coordinating jewelry to make sure she looked her best. She had a heart of gold and always saw the best in people. She had a pep in her step, brilliant smile and a hug to give. When she believed in you she never gave up on you. Her strong example of faith, love, and kind heart will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation for Geraldine was held Thursday, March 16th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Friday, March 17th from 8:30 to 9:45 A.M. at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 17th at 10 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi with Father Rodger Fleming officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at Calvary Cemetery in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were D.P. DeClue, Jason Adams, Preston DeClue, Eric Harrelson, Jim Harvey, Tommy Roy and Doniel Parks.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
