Lucy Marie Nelson of Mineral Point was born February 20, 1938 in Saint Louis, a daughter to the late Lucy (Stuthers) Rasnic and James Sidney Rasnic. Lucy departed this life Sunday, April 16, 2023 having reached the age of 85 years, 1 month and 27 days.

Lucy is survived by her son, Ralph Lewis of Crystal City; brothers; James Sidney Rasnic, Jr. of Potosi and Craig Arch Rasnic of Potosi; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her son, George Sidney Lewis and sister, Evelyn Dee.

Lucy enjoyed spending her time in the great outdoors, and was an arborist at heart, she could tell you the names of many trees by species. She also was an advocate for animals, which she loved to watch and interact with. She enjoyed traveling and acknowledged the beauty in every adventure she bestowed on. Lucy also enjoyed genealogy, while discovering many interesting facts about her family tree. Lucy was a proud member of the Washington County Red Hat Society and also enjoyed working at KYRO radio station. Lucy enjoyed spending time with friends and making fond memories. Lucy’s bright and caring personality has touched many people in her life, and her love will illuminate a light in the hearts of those who knew and will continue to love her in the days and years to come.

Visitation for Lucy was held Friday April 21st from 4 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Saturday April 22nd from 9 to 11 A.M. at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 22nd at Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ainley officiating.
Burial and final prayers took place at Big River Cemetery in Irondale. Serving as pallbearers were Dan Lewis, Bryan Stewart, Daren Preslie and Michael Lewis.
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
