John William Mason

John William Mason of Caledonia was born on July 2, 1949, in St Louis, a son of the late Clifton and Ruby (Tedder) Mason. John passed away on April 17, 2023, having reached the age of 73.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his half-sister, Bonnie Nipper (husband, Cyril); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Mason; mother, Ruby Walker; step-father, Bill Walker; half-brothers, Jesse Wilborn, Dallas Wilborn, and Charles Wilborn.

John was a loving and caring brother and uncle. He was a generous man who would help anyone. John enjoyed all types of music, and in past times, he enjoyed going to the Sayers Senior Center to listen to his brother-in-law, Cyril, play music. He was very patriotic to his country, loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed reminiscing on old memories, including telling stories.

Visitation was Thursday, April 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Friday, April 21st from 10 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 21st at 11 a.m. at the DeClue Memorial Chapel, officiated by Elder Mike Jarvis. Interment followed at Bennett-Bryan Cemetery, in Belgrade.
