Carol M. Flesher

Carol M. Flesher, 78, of Sullivan passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023 at SSM St. Clare Hospital in Fenton.
Carol Marie Flesher was born June 8, 1944, to Robert and Kathryn (Eitzert) Jones in San Mateo, California. Carol grew up in Pacific Grove, California and graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1961. She was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Larry Flesher, on June 24, 1961. Together, they were blessed with three children, Michael, Terri, and Kimberly. They continued raising their family across the states and around the world while Larry served in the Navy, living in California, Missouri, South Korea, and the Republic of Cyprus.
A dedicated homemaker, Carol remained at home to care for her children until they were grown. She then worked as a cashier for the Fort Zumwalt School District for 20+ years. Throughout her life, Carol was actively involved in her community and enjoyed a variety of interests. She loved to go bowling and even participated in a league. Furthermore, she was a leader in scout programs and a supportive band mom.
Carol and Larry owned and operated a ceramics business called Saint Louis Area Ceramics. Carol had a passion for painting ceramics and proudly displayed their products from coast to coast in ceramic shows. She also enjoyed teaching others how to paint ceramics while attending the shows. In addition to her love for ceramics, Carol was a talented musician, often playing the piano or organ and singing with Larry at the churches they attended.
Above all, Carol adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Flesher of Sullivan; two daughters, Terri Flesher of Sullivan, and Kimberly Tappmeyer and husband Stephen of O'Fallon; two grandchildren, William Tappmeyer and wife Elizabeth of Wentzville, and Amanda Tappmeyer of O'Fallon; and four great-grandchildren, Molly, Morgan, Liam, and Selina. She also leaves behind a special nephew, Steven Garrett; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Flesher of Colona, Illinois, and Phillip Flesher and wife Patti of Spanish Fort, Alabama; and a dear friend, Sharon Smith of St. Peters.
Carol was preceded in death by a son, Michael; her parents, Robert and Kathryn; and a sister, Marilyn Garrett and husband Wayne.
