July Women’s Connection “Daylily Dreams”

The July 11, 2023 Women’s Connection Brunch will feature Jeremy Herman, owner of Dreamland Daylilies who will share all about growing and raising daylilies on his farm and what he is trying to accomplish.
The event is located at the Farmington Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Columbia at the Cayce Street entrance from 9:15-11 a.m.
Jeremy Herman was born and raised in Ste. Genevieve and attended MAC College where he received a degree in Mathematics and teaches at North County Middle School.
He and his wife, Crystal, who met at MAC, have two children, Zachariah 10, and Beulah 7, and have lived the last 5+ years on a farm just south of Farmington off Hwy. DD where he grows daylilies.
In 2020 he started Dreamland Daylilies, but has been growing plants all his life.
Sue Meyers, our Guest Speaker, was born in Michigan, moved to Yuma, AZ while in Middle School and graduated from High School there. She married, had a son and divorced, becoming a single mom. While working in retail, she was promoted to management and relocated to Indio, CA. There she met her husband, Wayne and adopted two children and have been married for 40 years. She became active in church working and teaching, she and Wayne led a local 4H group, and she was president of the local Homeschool Cooperative. In 2005, she became Associate Director of a local homeless shelter which grew significantly and changed many lives.
In 2013, she became interested in Celebrate Recovery due to her codependent relationship with two of her adult children because of her interference with assistance, money, and unrequested suggestions that hindered their recovery. Because Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step journey which encourages fellowship, accountability and mentoring, she has been active in it ever since because it lets God take the reins.
After retiring from the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, having adopted their two grandchildren in 2015, they moved to Farmington which was halfway between their adult children in KS and IN. They became active in ministry at Parkland Chapel while attending Celebrate Recovery Big Meetings in Fredericktown while currently working with Parkland as of May 2023 to start a new Celebrate Recovery ‘12-Steps and 8 Principles’ to be applied to life’s issues, hurts, habits and hang-ups. With the Lord’s blessing, they will begin large group meetings in late Summer 2023.
Reservations/Cancellation for this event are preferred by Friday, July 9th. Call Barb at 573-747-3854 or Mary at 573-358-1274.
