Mollie Rousan Fighting Leukemia Recently Diagnosed Potosi Student

July 12, 2023

A local young lady has just been thrown in to a fight with cancer. Mollie Rousan was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

She was sent to St. Louis immediately and doctors there began treatment and a plan to help Mollie.

Mollie is a student at Potosi Elementary School and the daughter of Beth Rousan, a teacher at Potosi and Bobby Rousan, a teacher at Kingston.

She just began treatment for the cancer and news of her illness has rapidly gotten around the area.

Several people have offered help and assist in many ways. There have been friends planning cookie bakes, donations online and just announced is a fund raiser at Mim’s Just Like Home day care on Highway P.

A ‘Miracle for Mollie’ day has been planned for Friday, July 21st at the day care from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A variety of food items will be available to the public and all offerings are being sold by donation only.

Items will include hot dogs, nachos and cheese, popcorn, snow cones and desserts.

The children and staff at Mim’s all wanted to help Mollie and decided this would be a good way to help her and her family.

The organizers have announced that all proceeds will go to Mollie and her family and all donations are welcome.

The day care is located at 10405 State Highway P (Park Drive) and is just South past Fit 4 Life Gym.

Mollie is said to be a tough competitor and plays basketball and enjoys her friends. This was a surprise for the family, as it would be for anyone and they have had their lives turned upside down with this diagnosis.

All support and prayers are appreciated by the family and the community wishes Mollie well as she takes on this fight.
