‘The I-J’ Subscription Rates to Increase Beginning with September Editions

The Independent-Journal has tried to hold the line on costs as much as possible and keep the ‘paper’ affordable for the dedicated readers who subscribe.

Pricing is still being discussed at this time, the price has to increase due to continuing cost of mailing through the United States Post Office.

The office will most likely try to implement two price increases, one this year and then one next Spring, depending on how things develop. We are working on an approach to keep ‘reasonable’ subscriptions while working to cover expenses.

‘The I-J’ has lived with six increases in postage over the last 3+ years and it has finally come to the point that mailing an edition of the newspaper now costs over double what it did in 2020.

The Independent-Journal appreciates its subscribers and understands that they are a vital part of keeping the ‘doors open’ for local news and information.

The digital era has certainly changed things. ‘The I-J’ is still the hometown paper and continues to try to promote the area, youth and happenings in the community.

Subscribers can get the weekly edition by computer with an online subscription. This option has proved to be popular for readers who live out of the area.
