Michael Pingel

Michael “Mike” Louis Pingel of Potosi was born July 27, 1962 in Perryville, a son to the late Don Pingel and Judy (Hochstatter) Douglas. Mike departed this life Friday, November 13, 2020 having reached the age of 58 years, 3 months and 17 days.

On July 10, 2004, Mike was united in marriage to Anne (Pashia) Pingel and they were blessed with sixteen wonderful years together.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Anne of Potosi; daughter, Krystal Pingel of St. Louis; son, Michael Pingel of Vandalia, Illinois; sister, Vicki Reeves and husband Mike of Farmington; brother, David Pingel of Hartsburg; brother-in-law David Pashia and wife Rhonda of Kansas City; father-in-law, Don Pashia of Potosi and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Iva Pashia.

Mike was a kind and caring man always helping others in need. He was a faithful member of the St. James Catholic Church and loved all animals. His love of animals was so great he wanted to start an animal shelter. The outdoors brought him great joy and he went fishing as often as he could. He enjoyed watching college football and rooting for Mizzou, his favorite team. Above everything else, he loved his family with his whole heart, cherishing his time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Visitation for Mike was held Tuesday, November 17th from 3-8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 18th at 11 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi with Father Rodger Fleming officiating.

Burial and final prayers took place at Calvary Cemetery in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were: David Pingel, Dale Ware, Ray Helms, Terry Skinner, Collin Eaton and Conner Eaton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center or St. James Catholic Church in Potosi.

All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
