Marvel Chazelle

Marvel Lucille Chazelle, a beloved member of the Potosi community, passed away peacefully on November 21 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on September 22, 1940 in Potosi, a daughter to the late Minnie Bell (Sansegraw) Biggerstaff and Clyde Biggerstaff. 
Marvel was united in marriage to Leroy Chazelle on January 23, 1960. Together they happily raised their children and shared countless memories together. Leroy passed away December 31, 1993.
Marvel was known for her loving, kind, and caring nature; she always had other people in her thoughts and prayers. Her compassion was evident in all aspects of her life. She dedicated countless hours to her family, friends, and her faith, serving as a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul. In her leisure time, Marvel found joy in reading, working on puzzles, tending to her beloved plants, and visiting with family and friends. These hobbies enriched her life and brought happiness to those around her.
Marvel is survived by her two daughters, Janet Chazelle of Saint Louis, and Karen Thomlinson and husband Houston of Potosi. She also leaves behind three sons, Jim Chazelle and wife Angie, Jeff Chazelle and wife Ronda, and Mike Chazelle, all of Potosi. She will be dearly missed by her two brothers, Bill Biggerstaff and wife Dee, of Park Hills, and Bob Biggerstaff and wife Patricia, of Saint Louis, as well as her sister-in-law Rosita Biggerstaff of St. Charles.
Marvel's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Heather and husband Corey Emily, Brandon Chazelle, Miranda Chazelle, Brittany and husband Mark Reeves, Audrey and husband Kody Tipton, Blaine and wife Sheree Chazelle, Derek and wife Katie Chazelle, Elaina and husband Tyler Finch, Bradley Schutz, and Philip Thomlinson. 
She was also a proud great-grandmother to Cory, Blake, Saraeya, Markus, Jocelynn, Juliana, Braxton, Shaylee, Emma, Ryder, Tinley, Rainer, Tanner, and Allen. Marvel's memory will also be cherished by her dear and special friends Kim, Scott, Madison and Mackenzie Smith in addition to many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.  
In addition to her parents and husband Leroy, Marvel was preceded in death by her brothers, Murle Biggerstaff and Ray Biggerstaff.
Marvel will be remembered not only for her warm heart and unwavering love for her family but also for the countless lives she touched during her time with us. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation for Marvel was held Monday, November 25th from 3 to 8 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation resumed Tuesday morning November 26th from 8:30 to 9:45 A.M. 
Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi with Father Tony Dattilo officiating. 
Burial and final prayers took place at Calvary Cemetery in Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were Philip Thomlinson, Cory Emily, Markus Reeves, Blake Emily, Derek Chazelle, Blaine Chazelle, and Brandon Chazelle. 
All services were under the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
