Brian Boyer
December 11, 2024

Brian James Boyer, lovingly known as "Boogee", a beloved figure within the Potosi community, passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 55 surrounded by his family. Born on November 11, 1969, in Potosi, Brian was a hardworking individual who embraced life with a spirit that was as infectious as it was uplifting. He thrived in the company of others and made it his mission to help everyone he encountered, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many. On May 24, 1997 Brian was united in marriage to Michelle (Battreal) Boyer and they lovingly shared 27 years together.
Brian's passions were varied and vibrant. Hunting was not just a hobby for him; it was a cherished pursuit that he eagerly shared with his sons and friends. He had a special place in his heart for the thrill of the race track and spent countless hours working diligently on his Camaro and traveling with Dennis E. Finley race cars. Fast cars was his passion. He loved to build, repair, replace, and watching the tires smoke and the car fly down the track. He also enjoyed working for Chrysler from 1995-2008, and at Federated Fisher’s Auto Parts where he enjoyed helping many and shared his love for automobiles. However, the joy that filled his life most came from the moments spent with his children and grandchildren, Lane, Carter, Madison, and Blake, whom he adored and took great pride in.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Battreal Boyer, whose unwavering support enriched his life. Brian was a dedicated father to his two sons, Tim Battreal and his wife Ashley, and Colby Boyer and wife Caitlin, both of whom brought him immeasurable joy. Brian also leaves behind his father, Larry Boyer of Mineral Point and sister Lisa Pasley of Illinios, mother-in-law, Judy East of Potosi; sister-in-law, Sherry Battreal and Edna Boyer of Cadet and many cherished relatives and friends who will miss his laughter and kindness dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda (Woods) Boyer, and his father-in-law, Aaron "Buckshot" East, who he held in high regard.
Brian will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend—a beacon of humor, compassion, and resilience whose legacy will live on in our hearts.
