Rachel Faye Freeman, many knew her as "Punkin," was born on March 24, 1970. Rachel departed this life on Friday, February 14, 2025, having reached the age of 54 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth touched the lives of many around her.
Rachel worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant throughout numerous nursing homes, where she found fulfillment in caring for others. Her nurturing spirit was shown in every interaction, as she dedicated herself to the well-being of those in her care. In addition to her career, Rachel cherished crafting and woodworking, and had a special love for butterflies, often collecting items that represented them in any form. She enjoyed sipping on Pepsi, riding motorcycles, and spending many days fishing.
She is survived by her children, Francis Boyer and Issac Dobbs; her grandchildren, Amber, Anthony, Alyssa, Mathew, Michael, Bailey, Scott, Addison, and Karlee; and her brothers and sisters, Mona Lesa Dobbs, Virginia Bannister (husband, Jeffery), Marcella Skaggs (husband, Evert), Moralee Dobbs, Rose Dobbs, Naymond Dobbs, Frankie Dobbs, William Dobbs Jr., Marvin Dobbs, and Ruby Bell. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who all held her dear.
Rachel is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Freeman, along with her parents, Francis and Janet (Courtway) Dobbs; siblings Clyde Dobbs, Micheal "Boze" Courtway, Francis Dobbs, and Larry Courtway; brother-in-law Leonard Nash; sister-in-law Sue Dobbs; and many other dear relatives who have gone before her.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
