Donna Jean Isgrig of Steelville passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 10 days. She was born at home April 27, 1948 on Dry Creek to Guy James Theodore Isgrig and Gladys Kaiser Isgrig.
Donna attended Leasburg First Southern Baptist Church at Leasburg and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Caledonia.
She always loved to write personal letters throughout the years, loved her special dog, “Button” and loved her family more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy James Theodore Isgrig and Gladys Kaiser Isgrig; two brothers, Melvin James Isgrig and Kevin Mansford Isgrig; sister-in-law, Marcelyn “Marcy” Isgrig; nephew, Ronald Lynn Isgrig and special aunt, Vena (Kaiser) Romine; her best friend and companion, Max Purcell, whom she lost in early 2017, after nearly 11 years together.
She will be sadly missed by two brothers, her twin brother Neil Isgrig of Potosi and Thomas “Allen” (Karen) Isgrig of Steelville; sister-in-law, Bonnie Isgrig of Potosi; nieces and nephews, Donald Isgrig of Doe Run, Kathleen Isgrig of Hawaii, David (Donna) Isgrig and Andrew Isgrig all of Farmington, Amy (Tommy) Mounce and Chris (Tasha) Isgrig all of Steelville; other relatives; and friends.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 8th at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Terry King officiating. Special music of "The Old Rugged Cross", "When We All Get to Heaven" and "Mansion Over the Hilltop" was sung by the congregation with J. R. Henderson playing the accordion.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in Caledonia.
The Isgrig Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville.
