George A. Ponzar, III

George A. Ponzar, III was born on November 4, 1956 in Bonne Terre. He was the son of the late Geraldine “Jackie” (nee Wood) and George A. Ponzar, Jr.. He died on June 8, 2025 at Georgian Gardens in Potosi at the age of 68.
George is survived by his wife, Cheryl (nee Boyer) Ponzar of Cadet; a son, Anthony “Tony” Ponzar of Farmington, a sister, Regina (the late Earl) Casey of Hillsboro; a brother, Richard “Rick” (Terry) Ponzar of Festus; sisters-in-law, Sandy (the late Wayne) Bailey of DeSoto; Claudia (Charlie) Harper of Cadet; Debbie (the late George) McClelland of Barnhardt; and brother-in-law Gene (Gina) Boyer of Affton; and his dog, Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law Joe Boyer.
George was a retired tire installer for Chrysler and a member of UAW Local 110. He was a member of the Cruisers Car Club and was very proud of his 1962 Impala that his grandfather had given him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home. Service will be held Friday, June 13th at 11 A.M. at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home officiated by Deacon Ed Boyer. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto.
